Südtirol has finished restyling its stadium
Bolzano club could celebrate possible promotion in the renovated facility
April 23rd, 2022
Despite the fact that there are only 90 minutes left to reach the much-dreamed of Serie B, Südtirol and the city of Bolzano can celebrate another important milestone. A few days ago, after three years of extensive work, the red and white club announced the end of the works, opening the doors to all fans in a renovated structure that can now accommodate 5,500 people. The project was designed by arch. The project was carried out by architect Dejaco from Bressanone who renovated the two old stands, the 'Canazza' and the 'Zanvettor', adding new internal rooms for athletes and managers as well as new rooms for media and journalists. In addition to the grandstands, the playing field was also completely redesigned and equipped with an underground heating system.
"It was a very complex project. We wanted to keep the original and historical structure thanks to the collaboration with the Superintendence - explains a satisfied mayor Renzo Caramaschi - We are happy to be able to open it to the city for such an important event, hoping that Südtirol can win on Saturday. The structure is up to standard for the Serie B".
The restyling does not stop here, should Südtirol manage to reach and then maintain the Serie B, the club is ready to build the two missing stands, thus closing the structure. An extremely important project for a Pro League club, one of the few clubs that will be able to count on a modern and renovated stadium, almost a utopia in the lower leagues. A few weeks ago we talked about the disastrous situation in these categories, since 2000 there have been 190 (approximately) teams that have gone bankrupt, the latest being Calcio Catania. A new and renovated stadium confirms the will of the Bolzano team that after having imposed itself on the football scene as one of the teams that communicates better on the web, has scored an important shot, up to the great expectations of the club.
