First cryptocurrency company to own a club This is the case of Wagmi who a few days ago completed the acquisition of Crawley Town FC

After definitely changing the aesthetics of the football world by taking over the post of betting companies, the crypto world has reached another big milestone. WAGMI United has become the first cryptocurrency company to buy a football club, this weekend signing the contract that effectively allowed the two founders, Preston Johnson and Eben Smith, to become the owners of Crawley Town Football Club, a club that plays in the English fourth tier. WAGMI United - which stands for "We're All Gonna Make It," wants to create an intersection between crypto and sport. WAGMI United "seeks to reimagine the way sports teams are owned and managed, with the aim of empowering fans and supporters to take part in their team's decision-making and shape the future of the club.

But that's not all, the two founders want to create a unique club, capable of drawing up its own list of rules where every decision is taken through voting, just like on the new Web3. In practice, everything will be regulated by smart contracts, a regulation based on blockchain technology, in practice no one can rebel or run away with the loot (also because in this case everything is digital) but all share common goals established by voting. A way to further expand the club's fan base globally and open up new revenue streams by selling both NFT and crypto. A similar story to the one we told you about not so long ago, when "the Krause House DAO", tried to buy an NBA franchise. The project was called "WAGBAT" (We are going to buy a team) but the acquisition of any team will still take a long time as NBA franchises are not affordable.
