David Alaba takes the field with Darwin FC against discrimination

A few months after joining Real Madrid, David Alaba has joined another club with different ambitions than the merengues. Darwin FC is a Berlin-based non-profit organization dedicated to creating an inclusive, barrier-free football community. True to their motto - footballers of all colors, welcome to the club - they have been recruiting football personalities for years to carry out their laudable initiatives. 

This time the choice has fallen on Austrian jolly David Alaba, who after a life at Bayern Munich recently moved to Real Madrid. For Darwin FC, Alaba wrote a manifesto that represents his understanding of the game of soccer. "To me, the true beauty of the game lies in its diversity. i am committed to advocating respect in football and stand in solidarity with everyone who is subjected to racial discrimination." A phrase that is also featured in the capsule collection created to celebrate Alaba's joining the team, which includes a limited edition t-shirt and hoodie available Feb. 24. All proceeds from sales will go to the Kicken ohne Grenzen social soccer project in Vienna.
