Salehe Bembury confirms himself as one of the hottest names on the collaboration scene, as evidenced by Canada Goose's new collection for the NBA. The Canadian outwear brand continues its partnership with the professional basketball league after last season's capsule signed with Rhude. This time it's Salehe Bembury's turn, the perfect profile given his great interest in both outwear and the NBA. The New Yorker designer with a past at Versace arrives with momentum after an excellent 2021, which saw him successfully collaborate with Crocs, New Balance and Lexus, as well as becoming the creative director of Uninterrupted, the brand of LeBron James.
This relationship with the world of basketball has made possible the collaboration with Canada Goose, which combines personality and functionality in a reinterpretation of the brand's most famous pieces. Two characteristics that are perfectly matched with the attitude of Salehe Bembury, who has never hidden his feeling for technical clothing especially aimed at the outdoors both through his Instagram profile and with projects with New Balance.
Canada Goose's collection is inspired by the freedom of expression and creativity that dominated the NBA during the '90s. He himself says how he was inspired by the style shown on and off the court by Karl Malone, Charles Oakley and Vince Carter, as well as other pop culture references from that era from Space Jam and The Prince of Bel-Air. Composed of various pieces ranging from fleece to technical pants, to snow boots but the most interesting items are the classic Expedition Parka and Tundra Bib on which Salehe has imprinted his now iconic touch.
The collection will be available from February 11 on Canada Goose website and selected stores, and will be presented to the public during the All-Star Weekend of the following week in Cleveland with a series of dedicated events.
