Jorginho signs with PUMA
Another farewell at Nike, another blow at PUMA
December 30th, 2021
Jorginho has just signed a new sponsorship deal with PUMA Football, officially ending his relationship with Nike. The Chelsea player, a European champion with club and national team, is yet another coup for a brand that is expanding its group of athletes exponentially. After the signing of Neymar in September 2020 and the sponsorships with Varane, Xhaka and Lewandowski, PUMA is undermining the market dominance of giants such as adidas and Nike. Above all, the American brand seems to be losing more and more pieces, seeing a considerable amount of testimonials/athletes leave.
The announcement came via social media with a FIFA-style video, taking inspiration from the FUT mode when a new player is revealed through small clues, such as nationality and role. Another important step for the German brand, a result that adds up to a strategy that is giving excellent results both in terms of quality of players who decide to wear PUMA and in terms of brand awareness, which has grown a lot in recent years.
