Has the relationship between Nike and Serie A come to an end?
As was the case in Spain from 2022-23, the league in Italy may also change ball suppliers to PUMA

According to some rumours reported by Footyheadlines, the relationship between Serie A and Nike seems to have come to an end. The contract that binds the Italian top league with the American multinational will expire at the end of this season and as happened in 2019 in the Spanish La Liga in all likelihood PUMA will become the supplier for the coming seasons. The last contract renewal between the two came in the summer of 2019 for 2.5 million per year, with the ball model "Merlin". The swoosh has been the official ball supplier since the 2007/08 season and, in addition to Serie A, is also the official supplier of the Coppa Italia, the Italian Super Cup and Primavera 1 and 2.
The current season is undoubtedly one of the worst in Italy for Nike, which after losing Roma to New Balance, has been left with just one team and now seems close to the end of another relationship that lasted 14 years with the Serie A. Despite these latest decisions, it seems clear that the Oregon-based company no longer wants to focus on the Italian championship. In addition to the footballs since 2007, Nike has always been present in Serie A from the 1998-99 season until today on the shirts of Inter, Juventus from 2003 to 2013 (also considering the year in Serie B post Calciopoli), Roma from 2014 to 2021, Atalanta from 2014 to 2017 and Hellas Verona from 2013 to 2018 (with a year in Serie B). It reached its peak in the 2014-15 season, when all 5 teams listed were sponsored by the Beaverton brand. Inter, within this path, has always represented the only bastion Nike, confirming itself after the possible choice of the League to switch to PUMA, one of the staples of the Italian market.
