Alinghi will return to sail in the next America's Cup together with Red Bull
Along with the Swiss boat, will the collaboration with North Sail that defined the sportswear of the zero years also return?

The thirty-seventh America's Cup is finally beginning to take shape. After Luna Rossa, just taken over by Prada, confirmed its presence yesterday came the announcement that even their historical enemies Alinghi will compete in the most famous regatta on the planet. It will be a great return for the Swiss team captained as always by the entrepreneur Ernesto Bertarelli, winner of the America's Cup in 2003 and 2007 and the first team to bring back to Europe the Silver Cup.
Alinghi in the early 2000s had become a cult among sailing and sportswear lovers thanks to its collaboration with North Sails, which was the direct competitor of Luna Rossa's collection with Prada. Its concentric red symbol defined sporty yet elegant garments, suitable for both competition but also wearable in everyday life. Especially the anoraks, North Sail's most recognizable item, revisited with Alinghi's colors and with a more performative cut and materials, were a great success that still reverberates in secondary markets.
Now Alinghi aims to return to the wave of techwear, of which it was a pioneer in that edition of the America's Cup, and to do so it relies on the experience of Red Bull, which will accompany the Swiss boat in the next competition. The company, fresh from its Formula 1 victory with Max Verstappen, is ready to make its debut in the oldest regatta on the planet, a further step towards sporting nobility for a brand of energy drinks that began with extreme sports.
