The business of football jerseys as a fashion item is still going strong, and after Asia and Europe is now on the verge of conquering the USA thanks to events like Footycon, a one-day digital festival on November 10th focus on uniting the diverse communities of the sport of soccer through art, fashion, and culture.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the presentation by NR, the italian sportswear brand famous for its iconic jerseys from the ‘80, who recently came back to the scene on Pitti. For Footycon will unveil a collection of some historic jerseys that will made happy fans and collectors worldwide.
The collection - made in high quality acrylic and polyester - is composed of four unmissable jerseys. The collaboration with Patta of last year inspired by the away kit Italian soccer club Naples wore during their 1989/1990 season, when they won their 2nd Scudetto, guided by Diego Maradona. The original Fiorentina shirt from 1984/1985 season when, among others, the Brazilian great Socrates played at Artemio Franchi, the original iconic Napoli home shirt from UEFA cup winning team in 1988/1989 and the original AC Milan shirt from the 1983/1984 season with #6 Franco Baresi.
A grand revamp made with the best timing, when there’s a big comeback by the italian knitwear heritage and the vintage football jersey’s vibe, both of which NR has always highlighted in its products.
