Luna Rossa piece at auction
A technical component will be sold by Sotheby's for charity
October 1st, 2021
From September 29 to October 7, to support the MEDSEA Foundation in its project to restore the ecosystem of the Mediterranean Sea, Luna Rossa will auction a particularly characteristic and identifying piece of the AC75. The sea is their playground, which is why Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli has decided to auction the winglet, the end of the submerged wings that allow the boat to fly with the objective of contributing to funds for the protection of the marine environment.
Three-dimensional metal printing technology was used for the first time to produce the winglet. The latest competition in which the italian team came close to a historic victory is also a showcase for the evolution of yacht design and innovative materials. For this reason, the winglet is likely to become an iconic element in the evolution of flying yachts. Collectors will have the opportunity to own a piece of history, which will be auctioned at Sotheby's.
