Nike Football and Chelsea have just launched the new Blues home kit for the 2021-22 season. More than a jersey, the new jersey is a journey into 1960s London, with clear references to Op-Art that the English capital - together with New York - has helped to make of global interest. The kaleidoscopic pattern is the symbol of the new wave of the team that will play the Champions League final on May 29th, in an extraordinary year that has ignited the stages envisaged by the company itself. The graphics run throughout the kit, also extending onto the shorts. Optical Art has always been seen with the art of deceiving the eye through optical illusions, plays of perspectives and geometries that give a realistic sense of movement and this is also the effect that the Chelsea shirt generates.

In addition to Chelsea's classic royal blue, the details are no longer black and light blue as in the last kit but yellow, bringing back a color that the club used especially in the sixties. On the back of the neck there is also another feature of that time: the "CFC" (Chelsea Football Club) engraving, a classic Chelsea prerogative of Peter Osgood.

The shirt was launched through a video that pays homage to The Zombies - choosing "Time of the season" as the soundtrack - and which brings young talents such as Mount, Pulisic and Abraham but also Werner and Ziyech in the atmosphere of the clubs of the 60s . The involvement of the Chelsea players cannot be missed, just crowned as champions of England for the second consecutive year and who will play the Champions League final against Barça on Sunday.

Also in the context of Nike's #MoveToZero program - the project that will lead the brand to minimize the environmental impact of its production - the kit is made with 100% recycled polyester fabric. The debut of the new jersey is scheduled for this weekend, for both the women's and men's teams.
