What will be the next Napoli Calcio sponsor?
Voices talked about some Campania brands, but the Castore suggestion remains
March 22nd, 2021
These days, according to some voices, Napoli Calcio are considering Legea as technical sponsor for next season. That of the Neapolitan brand would be a return to Diego Armando Maradona after the 2003-04 season, when the Azzurri were in Serie B. But Legea is one of the brands that have been linked with Napoli, which despite having signed in February 2020 a renewal with Kappa until 2022, will most likely change sports partners, replacing the Turin brand with which it has been linked since 2015.
The contract proposed by Legea would be greater than the one currently active with Kappa: 3.8 million euros (plus royalties) against the current 2.5 million of kappa's brand. In addition to Legea, another campanian company that has taken an interest in Naples is Givova, a brand that, however, in Serie A, has not appeared for two - last time it was with Chievo Verona. Castore, an English brand formerly a sponsor of Rangers, had also been interested in Napoli, which has planned a sponsorship for Wolverhampton and Newcastle United in the Premier League. In addition, the Liverpool brand had optioned Lazio as possible partner, but in Italy, the brand would choose only one team between the Biancocelesti and Napoli. Macron had also been identified as a possible sponsor of Napoli, also a former partner of the Azzurri from 2009 to 2015.
Givova and Legea are two companies from Campania that, working with Napoli Calcio, would create a territorial combination that could facilitate the relationship with the club. In fact, the Napoli company is known to be difficult in negotiations with image rights (and television): it is likely that a local reality, perhaps, could initiate a more relaxed dialogue with the Azzurri for a possible sponsorship relationship.
