The urban jungle of São Paulo on Corinthians' 4th kit
Timão's historic jersey between urban tributes and sustainability
December 11th, 2020
The Corinthians and Nike take inspiration from the most characteristic elements of the largest city in South America, São Paulo. The first fourth kit in the history of Timão, released in the last hours, is historic both for the absolute novelty among the shirts of the club born in 1910 and for the design that the creative team of Nike and the Brazilian company have chosen to celebrate St. Paul. The symbols that make the shirt unique and special are two: on the one hand the map of one of the most incredible cities in the world, on the other the pattern of the iconic black and white sidewalks, just like the colors of Corinthians.
The idea of the urban jungle that is often associated with São Paulo is perfectly reflected in the stylistic choice of this fourth kit that will be used already during this season - presumably from 2021. Gustavo Viana, marketing director of the official distributor of Nike in Brazil (Fisia) , told the behind the scenes of the club's aesthetic growth process: "Together with Corinthians, we were pioneers in the 2008 and 2009 seasons by introducing the culture of the three shirt in purple, in reference to fanaticism of the fan. In 2012, the watermark map of the state of São Paulo stamped the shirt in the two biggest titles in the club's history: Libertadores and Mundial. And now, when introducing the 4th shirt in reference to such an iconic symbol, we value even more the connection of the biggest crowd in the state with your home".
A peita mais usada em São Paulo agora vai carregar a cidade estampada nela. Nova camisa 4 do Corinthians. Uma homenagem à casa do bando de loucos.

Like most of the new generation of swooshed jerseys, one of the focuses is sustainability. Even the Corinthians jersey is made with 100% polyester obtained from the plastic fibers of the bottles, from textile waste and used and recycled clothing, created to guarantee quality but also a low environmental impact.
