The first self-produced St. Pauli jersey
The eco-sustainable debut of the DIIY brand
December 2nd, 2020
St. Pauli's mission is clear: to become the most sustainable club in the world. To do this two weeks ago he announced the separation from Under Armor and the birth of DIIY, the internal brand that will produce the new team jerseys. The project took shape in the last few hours, with the German company launching the first home kit for the 2021-22 season without the American company logo (which has always been close to republican ideologies and for this reason no longer in the favor of St. Pauli). In addition to political reasons, however, there is an almost obsessive attention to the world of eco-sustainability.
As stated on the club's website, the jerseys offer "not only the highest level of performance, but also 100% sustainability". The result is the first ecologically sustainable and socially responsible self-produced unisex team sports line at every stage of production. Promising a "no throw-away products and no fast fashion" approach to new jerseys, the new kits from St. Pauli take the side of the workers, enforcing fair wage policies and good working conditions, working without compromise and opposing child labor and discrimination.
