The Hummel shirt of Everton 2020-21
Debut for the new technical sponsor and for the new jersey sponsor
July 3rd, 2020
Everton and Hummel signed the new sponsorship deal last May and the first Toffees kit for the 2020-21 season arrives 2 months later. Replacing Umbro is a complicated task, considering the excellent awareness that the British brand has in the UK. Hummel dares with a uniform that obviously does not betray the Everton blue but that changes the design of the previous technical sponsor. In addition to the #MoreThanEleven, the kit design shows Hummel's iconic chevron on the shoulders and shorts of the new uniform.
The first peculiarity concerns the tribute that the new brand dedicates to Z-Cars, the historic anthem of the Liverpool club. The image of the song's soundbar is visible along the sleeves and along the collar of the uniform, finishing everything with the social colors of the club. The minimalism of the shirt, therefore, does not betray the most careful. "The sound of Z-Cars is synonymous with Everton and Goodison Park - which in the past few weeks, being empty, doesn't have the same appeal as when it is full of our fans" said Dominic Calvert-Lewin. "I really like the fact that the detail of the soundbar is inserted in the fabric of the shirt itself. We hope that next season, wearing this kit, we will be able to translate that roar into victories" concluded one of Everton's most hype players.
Goalkeeper shirts, on the other hand, will not be long-sleeved but only short-sleeved. Jordan Pickford is already crazy about the new uniform: "I really liked having contributed to design the shirt I will wear. The Hummel team has really listened to what we like and need for us players, both in terms of colors and style".
