The new Nike jersey of Inter 2020-21
The new zigzag stripes are a tribute to the Milanese design of the 80s
June 30th, 2020
After the rumors, it has finally arrived. Inter is the first of the big teams in Italy to unveil next season's shirt. A real revolution, which started partly last year and ended this year with the complete distortion of the vertical stripes that have always accompanied the Nerazzurri. The zigzag design on the new home jersey of Antonio Conte's team is a tribute to tribal pop, one of the main artistic currents of the 80s. The goal is to enhance aesthetics and symbolize, thanks to the reworking of geometric shapes, the identity shared by the club and the people it represents.
The launch of the shirt was accompanied, as always, by a social content produced by Inter Media House and which conveys a clear message: "Made of Milano". Inter has grown a lot in recent years in terms of involvement and community and the message underlines the sense of unity that distinguishes the Milanese teams. The zigzag of the lines is also a reference to the stylized Biscione, the historic symbol of the club."We continue our pursuit of challenging the club’s traditional striped identity, this time drawing inspiration from one of Milan’s most important design movements,” says Nike’s Scott Munson, VP, Nike Football Apparel. “The zigzag graphic is a staple of post-modernist design and is also reminiscent of the slithering Biscione. The result is a radically unexpected home kit.”
The uniform will be available to holders of the "Siamo Noi" card, to subscribers and members of the Inter Club and Members starting from July 1st on store.inter.it and at the Inter Store Milan (Galleria Passarella 2). The free sale, however, will start on July 4th.
