The kit celebrates the 125th anniversary of the club's birth
June 29th, 2020
West Ham United has revealed the commemorative Umbro kit for the 125th anniversary of the club that the Hammers will wear in the 2020/21 season.
Inspired by the club's most successful period - which saw the founding of the Football Academy, the victory of the FA Cup, the Cup of Cups and the English Cup - the 125th Anniversary kit is a great classic with a modern reinterpretation that wants celebrate a glorious past.
The kit, which features the iconic burgundy and light blue colors on the shirt, is complemented by traditional white shorts and socks, and was designed after consulting the fans. The collar and the edges of the sleeves are in contrast with each other, while details such as the new celebratory logo and the emblem of the two hammers with the ''125'' writing complete the shirt.
''While we all want to achieve success looking to the future, West Ham United is a club that will forever remember its past and pay tribute to its legacy. As a boy, my father used to tell me all about Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters, about the Academy of Football and how we were one of the funniest teams in the world. This kit immediately reminds me of the legends they wore when they won the FA Cup and the Cup Winners' Cup'' explains Hammers captain Mark Noble.
