It will rise in place of the old Sant'Elia and will be inaugurated in the 2023

Despite this mandatory stop period, Cagliari looks to the future and does so by announcing the achievement of an agreement with Sportium regarding the design of the new stadium.
It is a 30,000-seat stadium that will be built in the Sant'Elia district, just in place of the ''old'' facility, and which should already be usable from the 2023/2024 season.
After the approval of the Guide Plan last November and the sharing of the project with the Sardinia Region and the Municipality of Cagliari, which led to the decision not to provide commercial spaces for the purpose of favoring small local businesses, the club signed an agreement with who assigned the definitive design assignment to Sportium - a company that also competes for the project involving the area that will involve San Siro - flanked, once again, by Manica Architecture.
"Together - reads the note published by Cagliari - they have a consolidated experience in the design of modern and functional sports facilities and arenas in line with international best practices, with a new design approach to make the experience of using big events".
The new plant in Cagliari - which has its own keywords in sustainability, innovation and identity - has a concept and architecture capable of speaking loud and clear from the first impact, using cutting-edge methodologies and technologies. After a series of bureaucratic obstacles, the Sardinian company is now ready to draw up the final project which will be followed by the public tender for the assignment of the construction of the stadium. From that moment, within three years, the stadium should be ready for use.
