The Dancing Bear becomes the new face of the brand

Season to be archived as quickly as possible for the Golden State Warriors of Draymond Green, the only star to be on the field continuously during this disastrous year. The Michigan State product, however, is consoled by signing a new sponsorship contract with Converse. No details on the figures that led The Dancing Bear to accept the offer of a brand that wants to return to the NBA market, after having been master of the same in the most glorious era of the National Basketball Association and having played a fundamental role in the evolution of sneakers.
Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green is signing a shoe deal with Converse, sources tell ESPN. He will become the brand’s highest profile athlete since Dwyane Wade. Green had been with Nike.

The 3-time NBA champion becomes the second athlete in the League to wear Converse, after the Phoenix Suns guard Kelly Oubre Jr. The choice of the Massachusetts brand to relaunch and focus on Oubre is more than understandable, considering that the # 3 of the franchise of the Arizona is one of the strongest style icons in terms of the NBA's impact. The passion for streetwear and lifestyle brought what would become the first Converse Basketball testimonial to take the field with Supreme shooting sleeves in a few months. The collaboration between Kelly and Converse began immediately with a bang last year, with the collaboration between the historic brand of Maden and Pigalle All Star Pro BB.
Beyond the fashion aspect of Kelly Oubre, Converse's strategy is to return to investing in successful players. We do not want the talent of the Suns, but Draymond Green represents a better athlete in terms of visibility. The strong wing of the Warriors is probably the best blow for Converse after the Wade deal, the brand's face until 2010 before moving on to Jordan.
New rumors are also coming for the future of Converse. The parent company Nike is certainly a very strong starting point and, according to what Nick DePaula of ESPN.com reports, it will be of great help when new strategies to expand the athletes package are implemented in April.
