New Balance presents Kawhi Leonard signature shoe
It will simply be called "KAWHI"
February 18th, 2020
Since joining New Balance, Kawhi Leonard has been the top man in the American brand's basketball department. Nevertheless, the number 2 of the Los Angeles Clippers has never had a real signature shoe but has always taken the field with the OMN1S, top of the range of the New Balance Hoops collection.
In anticipation of the All Star Game that has just ended, Leonard has nevertheless helped to make his brand talk, especially through the collaboration ''No Emotions Are Emotions'' with Joe Freshgoods, which we had talked about here. But not only: during the real game of the stars, the former face of Jordan Brand showed up on the parquet no longer with his classic OMN1S, but with a new silhouette, already called ''KAWHI'', which maintains some elements of his previous playing shoes.
With a debut colorway based on white, the shoe has a mid cut, with a base in technical mesh reinforced by heat-sealed overlaps and synthetic panels on the toe. The decorative details are presented with a multicolor embroidered motif in the middle part that continues and spreads on the tongue. The logos are well distributed throughout the shoe: the 3D NB one is located on the heel, the KAWHI brand on the tongue and the player's signature on the upper part of the heel.
