The Umbro x Sapeur - OSB 90s-inspired collection
Two items which pay homage to the typical outfit of the Casuls and the German pub culture

About 30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the 1990 World Cup held in Italy, Umbro joined Sapeur – One Step Beyond - an independent blog dedicated to the British terrace culture lifestyle - to bring back the spirit of that time. The result is a reinterpretation of two Umbro archive items of the 90s. The football shirt is inspired by the jersey that Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne and his teammates wore at the 1990 World Cup, adding a bit of German pub culture paying homage to the Ebbelwoi, the Apfelwein (apple cider) variant, so named in the Frankfurt region, where Sapeur-OSB was founded.
The classic button collar is inspired by the original shirt, while the Sapeur-OSB crest on the chest is framed by the Fichtekranz, a spruce wreath that symbolizes the local "Ebbelwoi Culture" seen on every traditonal Apfelwein pub in the Frankfurt area. The quarterzip sweater is paying homage to the spirit of the terraces: zipped up to the top and worn with jeans and trainers, this was the perfect attire for the smart-dressed chap while listening to the songs of Oasis, Blur, The Verve or the Charlatans, bands that were a symbol of that generation.
