Last year he broke his historic deal with Nike to sign a very rich sponsorship contract with Uniqlo, but continuing to wear the American brand shoes, but in 2020 there could be some big news in the sporting outfit of Roger Federer, who in the recent days has bet a big amount in the young Swiss brand On. For the brand born in Zurich in 2010 thanks to three local guys, including a former duathlon athlete, the Swiss champion will initially be a simple investor, but in the future his role will be designer and global ambassador. More than a clue, therefore, of the release of the first RF signature shoes that could appear in 2020, but also of the future of the Swiss tennis player who could become a real entrepreneur in the world of sneakers, one of his great passions.
As reported in an interesting article by Elizabeth Paton recently published on The New York Times, many celebrities such as Will Smith, John Malkovich and Emma Stone have already experimented the On shoes, especially the Cloud model, the second best-selling one in Germany after Air Max 270. Although the tight competition of the top brands like Nike and adidas, the shoe has convinced so many potential customers not only for the new look that mainly distinguishes the sole but for the hi-tech realization and the performances, guaranteed by the fact that among the producers there is a former athlete. The growth of On, which today has around 500 employees and sells shoes in 55 countries around the world, did not escape the Swiss champion, who is already testing them during some running sessions and private training:
“They were impossible to ignore because everyone had them, people on the street, my friends, my wife. At first, I thought that they were a little strange to look at, then I realized I actually really liked the design."
