The new font of the Italian National team
Another amazing detail of the new 'Renaissance Kit'
October 14th, 2019
PUMA has recently presented the 'Renaissance Kit' of the Italian national team, probably one of the most beautiful jersey of the season. The new kit made its official debut in the EURO 2020 qualifying match against Greece, some photos are showing the details of the inspiration for the Renaissance concept. The match gave us the mathematical qualification to the next European Cup and was also the chance to see closely some details of the green-blue jersey.
Among these details, there is a new font, which replaces the one used since last season. On the green background, inspired by a jersey worn in a match against Argentina in 1954, a gold font is superimposed, reproducing the colors of the FIGC crest and the PUMA logo.
The lettering of the names and numbers is elongated, while inside the numbers there is a shiny profile which reminds of a rope. Even PUMA like many other brands is aiming to re-evaluate the fonts inside the kits, an element of a strong identity for the clubs which, as in this case, enriches a very successful shirt, unfairly criticized in recent days.
