The FC Barcelona 2019/2020 Third Kit

The hype for the new Third Kits that Nike top teams will wear during the 2019/2020 season has reached unexpected levels. First we discovered the Chelsea and Tottenham jerseys, then that of Inter, now it's the turn of Barcelona, which revealed it before PSG, AS Roma, Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray.

The color is a teal green not so unusual, as it was already worn by the Catalans during the 1990s, thus confirming Nike's clear intention to focus strongly on references to vintage football two decades ago. As stated by Gerard Piqué:

“When you see this color, you think of Ronaldo, Guardiola, Stoichkov, Luis Enrique…so many great players. It will be a pleasure to wear this kit and bring our fans joy with victories both at home and abroad."

The kit is in fact inspired by the glorious 1996/1997 season when Ronaldo 'The Phenomenon' managed to score 47 goals and the team reached to finish the year with a European triumph by winning the Cup Winners' Cup. Next season the new kit will always be used in the Champions League, officially debuting on September 17th during the match against Borussia Dortmund.

Among the details, the particular jacquard pattern inspired by the city of Barcelona, the blaugrana collar but above all the Nike Futura logo, the old Nike badge that the American brand has decided to use again by applying it to all 2019/2020 Third Kits, is immediately evident.
