Meanwhile, Nike presented the Blues Home kit for the 2019/2020 season, unusual compared to the latest made for the London team in recent years. The all-over graphic that forms the backdrop to the front of the jersey is inspired by the stadium that host Chelsea matches since 1905: Stamford Bridge, and at its Matthew Harding Stand, East and West Stand and above all the famous Shed End.
The shirt, that will be worn also by the women's team, is traditional royal blue, as well as the shorts. To complete the look, white socks with blue and orange finishes. Sponsors and Swoosh are white while a red and white monogram with the CFC initials decorates the back of the V-neck. The pattern of the shirt for the 2019/2020 season is very similar to a model of the past, worn from 91 to 93 and produced by Umbro. On that occasion, the design was inspired by the initials of the team and the Double Diamond Logo of the English brand.
After having chosen a cleaner and more contained line for soccer shirts in recent years, Nike seems to have returned to focus on variety and imagination, as shown by the many mash-ups, the bold graphics of shirts like that of Nigeria or the return to the past like the third kits adopted this season by AS Roma, Tottenham or Atletico Madrid.
