Kevin Durant pays tribute to the Seattle SuperSonics with a pair of Nike Cortez An iconic shoe to celebrate one of the NBA's historic franchises

A few days ago the Golden State Warriors played the pre-season game against the Sacramento Kings in a city that is hungry for basketball like no other, Seattle. Ten years later the NBA has returned to the city that belonged to Slick Watts for an evening to remember those days. In fact, since the 2008-2009 season the Seattle SuperSonics have become the Oklahoma City Thunder with all that derived from it. A franchise that changes city is not an isolated case in the NBA but leaving Seattle without a team has raised a few eyeborws across the ocean. There are rumors of a return for the team that featured Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp to name two that have had some impact on the city of coffee, but for now everything seems to be firm in this regard.

At the time of the presentation of the starting line up, Kevin Durant sported not the number 30 jersey of the Warriors but the 40 of the Seattle SuperSonics belonging to Shawn Kemp. Audience in raptures and discourse for those who were chosen in 2007 by the franchise of the state of Whashington, Durant said that the NBA can not ignore the Seattle basketball culture and that we must necessarily bring back the NBA in the city. The KD tribute has not stopped here, in fact, in collaboration with Nike were presented the Nike Cortez with the classic colors of the SuperSonics, the initials and the number of Durant on the heel, the classic "Space Needle" logo of Seattle on the back and the patch on the tab labeled "1967 to infinity". Made by the designer of Nike Ben Kirschner, of Seattle too, are the beautiful homage to one of the historic franchises of the NBA that we all hope to see again soon.
