AS Roma x Nigeria Super Eagles
The new Giallorossi training kit looks almost the same than the one used by the African national team in Russia
July 9th, 2018
Those of you who are most attentive to the unpredictable (and not to be missed) tangles of that fantastic world called Twitter, will certainly know about how AS Roma English account - one of the best and most active in the beautiful game - developed in the last weeks some sort of feeling for the Nigerian national team. This, of course, starts with the Super Eagles’ beautiful kit for the World Cup, made by the same brand that also makes the She-Wolf’s one, Nike. The social media manager immediately fall for the Nigerian shirt and also posted an AS Roma x Nigeria Super Eagle mashup on Twitter. Well, that kit is now real.
New year, new gear... wonder where Nike got this idea from?

Surprisingly, the Giallorossi goalkeepers showed up for the first summer training sessions with a green kit, very similar than the one worn by Nigeria during the three games at Russia 2018. Having the same brand helps but we never expect to see a simple photoshop on Twitter to become reality. Actually, the design of the jersey is not just the same, as the zig-zag stripes go horizontally and not vertically but for the rest, the jersey is almost the same. To be honest, the jersey does look like South Korea's training kit... but where's the fun there?
Expectations vs. Reality

Of course yes, it’s most likely that the two things are completely disconnected from each other and that Roma’s new training shirt has nothing to do with Nigeria’s World Cup jersey. But why should we take all the love away from football and - especially - from Twitter?
