Illustrated guide to Russia 2018 jerseys - Group C
France, Australia, Perù and Denmark
June 21st, 2018
With the World Cup in Russia that is now in its full steam, we continue our illustrated guide to all the shirts used by the national team, realized for us and for you by Sergio Scala. Today is Group C’s turn, that in the first games saw France’s complicated victory against Australia and Denmark’s suffered one against Perù. As for what happened on the pitch - and what it will happen - Group C is one of the most interesting ones to follow, also from an aesthetic point of view, with two of the most beautiful Nike shirts in the World Cup and two of our favorite brands: Hummel and Umbro. So, let’s see France, Australia, Perù and Denmark’s kits.
France - Nike
Even if the French national team is one of the most striking on the pitch thanks to its many young and hype players - like Pogba, Griezmann, Mbappé, and Dembelé - the Swoosh has made two very classic shirts, especially the home one. This allowed the Bleus to have two cool jerseys, with the dark blue tone of the home one that perfectly pairs with the white of the away one.
Australia - Nike
The Swoosh also realized the Socceroos’ shirts, that has one of the most interesting designs in the World Cup. Where the most part of the Nike teams have the same thin-striped design, Australia has a more wavy and irregular one, highlighted by the contrast between the main yellow and the deep green of the details, same green that unfortunately doesn’t look so good on the away shirt. Still, the home kit is one of the most beautiful at Russia 2018.
Perù - Umbro
Most of the times, we’re totally in love with Umbro’s aesthetic choices and these two Perù shirts make no exception. For La Rojiblanca, the Double Diamond has made some sort of a double-faced couple of jerseys, with the home one that features the classic white colorway with red diagonal stripe and the away one that is the exact opposite. Both shirts are made way cooler by the golden detailing, both on the Peruvian association’s crest and the diagonal stripes’ outlines.
Denmark - Hummel
The only flaw that we can find in one of our favorite brands is to have slightly betrayed its own nature, that usually embraces daring and modern styles. For Denmark’s shirts, though, Hummel preferred a more classic and Northern-European design - still very nice. The home and away jerseys are basically the same shirt with inverted colors, red and white on the home one, white and red on the away.
