Even if we’re barely at the end of the current championships - and with the massive undertaking of the World Cup that is approaching - the brands already started to unveil the new kits for the season to come and yesterday we had the first release for a top club: Manchester City. In fact, Nike presented the new home kit for the Citizens for the 2018/19 season, that will make its debut in the last home game at Etihad Stadium against Brighton.

The new Manchester City home kit has several references to the aesthetic past of the club, keeping the iconic ‘City blue’ on the background with darker stripes on the sleeves and arms. The return of the navy blue socks is a reference to 1937, the year when the Citizens won their first title, and to the 98/99 season, which is considered a turning point in the modern history of the club.

The new kit, that will be worn both by the male and female teams, has been shot with the participants of the City in the Community Foundation (CITC), that promotes several initiatives for the youth of the city. Waiting to see its debut on the pitch against Brighton, you will be able to get the new Manchester City home kit at nike.com from May 14, while you can already pre-order it at prodirectsoccer.com.
