The shirt tattooed on the chest

The passion for our favorite team can really reach unthinkable peaks. But if during the years we saw every kind of love displays, this is a story that has no precedents, at least as far as we know. Tattooing, in fact, has always been one of football enthusiasts’ favorite forms of art, as they’ve always covered their skin with names, numbers, dates, symbols and every other kind of reference to their team. But what Maurício dos Anjos has done, is more than we have ever seen.

The 33-years old Brazilian, in fact, is a massive Flamengo fan and he decided to tattoo the red and black shirt of the club on his chest. And it’s not a figure of speech. Not the outlines, not the crests, not just some parts but the whole Flamengo shirt, that now covers the forty percent of his body. The tattoo is a replica of the 2015 home shirt, integrally replied with the exception of branding and jersey sponsor. The work lasted for 32 sessions, for a total of 90 hours, covering Maurício’s chest with red and black stripes.

Truth to be told, another supporter tried a similar undertaking, but only tattooing himself with the green stripes of Atletico Nacional’s shirt, leaving the white ones behind. So, the love gesture has been overcome by Maurício’s one, that can now call himself as the only football fan with the shirt of his team actually tattooed on his body.
