The Sauber Alfa Romeo Team has presented the amazing C37
The single-seater marks the return of the Italian brand in motorsport after more than thirty years
February 20th, 2018
After dropping our jaws yesterday for the presentation of the new Red Bull RB14, today one of the most awaited moments by Italian Formula 1 enthusiasts has come. You should know that you could actually cry, as the Sauber Alfa Romeo team has unveiled the new C37, that sees the return of the “Quadrifoglio” at the highest levels of motorsport after 32 years. The design is actually very similar to the one we saw when the partnership was made official, but in that case, it was applied to the old car. And we want to compromise ourselves: the car that will be driven by Marcus Ericsson and Charles Leclerc during the 2018 season, will be one of the most beautiful on the track.
The Sauber Alfa Romeo livery follows the guidelines imposed by the new Formula 1 regulation, quite evident also for the fewer experts just comparing the new car’s photo with the old ones. The design of the car maintains the colors showed a few months ago, with a predominantly white and red on the rear section of the car, where the relationship with Alfa Romeo is highlighted. The logo of the company founded in Milan in 1910 appears in many spots, but the most evident is placed on the engine covering. The rear view is also very evocative, with the white “Alfa Romeo” writing on the red spoiler.
You also have to notice Halo’s presence, the new protection system for the drivers that have become mandatory for the new season, generating quite a few protests. The last two details: on the engine covering there are both Alfa actual logo and the “Quadrifoglio”, the legendary symbol that bonds the Italian factory to the motorsport. On the headrest, there’s Kappa symbol, another Italian brand connected to the Sauber Alfa Romeo team.
