Udinese signs new contract with Macron
The Italian brand will be the new kit supplier for the club for the next six seasons
February 7th, 2018
Macron and Udinese have agreed on a technical kit sponsor deal from the 2018-19 season and due to last for six years (2023-24). The partnership will see the provision of technical sportswear for the first team, the youth teams, the affiliated teams and the youth academy. Furthermore, Macron will see an important increase in visibility with the advertising spaces at the Dacia Arena combined with the opening of a Macron Store within the stadium.
According to a UEFA report, the Bologna-based company is the third main brand - behind Nike and adidas - in European football, with the 8% of the overall businesses in Europe’s 16 major leagues, for a total of 268 clubs. Macron is coming from a great “season”, thanks to a €83,5 million sales volume, 19% bigger than the previous year. This happened thanks to the rising sponsorships in the football, with the first steps made towards the national teams’ kits market, other than rugby, basketball, and volleyball. Macron is now leading the Serie A providing kits for four teams (five, including Udinese) - while Nike and adidas respectively set for three and two - surely is one of the growing brands, and it only has to make one last step to reach the colossus of the sports industry.
