Even if the NBA is legitimately one of the coolest league on heart - maybe THE coolest - not every franchise of the Association can praise a Global Ambassador like Drake. This honor is up to the Toronto Raptors, that teamed up with the city rapper a while ago. The Canadian franchise has just announced the expansion of the partnership with Drake with the “Welcome Toronto” program.

This particular plan involves six regular season home games - Jazz, Lakers, Trail Blazers, Rockets, Nets, and Pacers - other than plans to donate $1 million USD to refurbish local community basketball courts and an additional $2 million USD to Canada Basketball. During each one of the six games, the Raptors will wear the special jerseys branded by OVO - Drake’s brand - unveiled a few days ago. More, the Air Canada Centre court will be substituted with a special version, made out of maple wood and embellished with black and gold OVO logo.
“As this team and Toronto continues to grow, we have seen how much we can do together”, said Drake. “Welcome Toronto” is about celebrating our team and our city, but also working together to give back to the community and creating a place where the youth of our city can come together to play”.
