Nike realized a special jersey for the Lombaerts Zenit's farewell

A Belgian who find his place in Russia. We should not be surprised by this thing, in a ultra-globalized world, but the story of Nico Lombaerts is touching. Arrived from Gent to Zenit 10 years ago, the defender was able to gain his place in the hearts of the fans, until becoming a real symbol of the team. It was for this reason that, last Friday, the Zenit supporters paid homage to him with a beautiful banner where was written: “you are Zenit”. It was in fact the last game of Lombaerts, who will come back to Belgium this summer.

But the one arrived from the supporters was not the only gift to the number 6: also Nike – supplier of the Russian – made a special surprise to him with a particular jersey. A jersey that was a collage of every shirt Lombaerst wore during his Zenit career. An operation really similar to the one made up with Arsenal, when Nike celebrated the end of the relationship with the Gunners after 20 years.
