The Stage is Set
Manchester United and Ajax will compete in the Europa League final in a clash among legends
May 12th, 2017
This year, after a few seasons with several outsiders in the European cups' finals, we can't complain. After that, the results of the two semi-finals gave to the Champions League's last game the super-match between Real Madrid and Juventus, even the little sister Europa League - that we still call UEFA Cup - has seen the verdict about the two finalists.
The two teams that will face each other on May 24 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm will be Ajax and Manchester United, two clubs with an high-end European pedigree. Even if the Red Devils never won the UEFA Cup - not in the old format and neither in the new one - they can praise a top-club international palmares. Same thing for Ajax, that in the years has celebrated among the Amsterdam's canals four Champions Leagues, a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and a UEFA Cup, among other things.
So, we will see two unmissable finals and - for once - the Europa League one won't have anything to envy to the big sister. Manchester United-Ajax is already a clash that smells like history and legend.
