Facebook introduces animated profile pictures

After the bomb news of the introduction of the “dislike” button and the return to a free sized profile photo, Facebook is about to release a new function all interactivity fans will love.

In the next days you will actually be able to post a GIF but also a short video as a profile picture. An animated turn which makes the social network closer to its competitor – instagram – and opens up to the language of modernity. Something similar to Harry Potter’s movable newspaper, to be clear.

Besides the animated profile you will also be able to set a temporary profile picture, which shifts alone to celebrate a birthday or a special anniversary.

Looking at all those news we keep on wondering: FB knows us better than our mum?
