David Lynch pulls out of directing Twin Peaks sequel
April 7th, 2015
We've been flipping our shit since David Lynch announced in October that he'd be resurrecting cult cable series Twin Peaks in 2016
When David Lynch announced in October that he'd be resurrecting cult cable series Twin Peaks in 2016 ( to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original finale), the world stopped spinning for a second and everybody paused Breaking Bad to go on twitter looking for confirmation.
What a pity my dear friends of the online streaming!
This weekend, while we were busy with family meals and short trip, David Lynch announced that he would abandon the project.
Everything was ready, together with the co-creator Mark Frost had written the first nine episodes that should go on air on Showtime, they've been working on assembling its original knockout cast, which includes Kyle MacLachlan, Heather Graham, and Lara Flynn Boyle; But the reward offered by the channel apparently was not enough, and Mr. Lynch has pulled back.
After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done.
