Shia LaBeouf - I Was Raped During My #IAMSORRY Exhibition
November 28th, 2014
A virtual relationship, born on the web and ended with a silent but full of meaning meeting. Shia LaBeouf has contacted in this way Aimee Cliff, journalist of Dazed, asking her to start "a new game together." The request was simple and consisted of a virtual exchange of thoughts, feelings and experiences, a confrontation via email that should confine itself in that dimension of abstract and elusive which is the network. That's why, when they had an appointment, after months of correspondence, in the London hotel room of LaBeouf, not a word came out of their mouths. Only two GoPros filming for an hour two seated figures facing each other, immersed in an atmosphere so intimate to make any speech superfluous. Not a simple interview, rather a metamodernist encounter.
One of the earlier questions via email between Shia and Aimee was about #IAMSORRY, the performance organized by LaBeouf for which he spend five days sitting in an art gallery, meeting, one at a time, several people free to do whatever they wanted with him.
INTERVIEW from Rönkkö / Turner on Vimeo.
"One woman who came with her boyfriend, who was outside the door when this happened, whipped my legs for ten minutes and then stripped my clothing and proceeded to rape me. There were hundreds of people in line when she walked out with dishevelled hair and smudged lipstick. It was no good, not just for me but her man as well".
You can find the whole interview of the terrible admission on Dazed.
