5 things to in Milan this weekend
From 17 to 19 Dicember
December 6th, 2021
Between the strike of the vehicles and the extreme cold, the Milanese, real and established, are in serious difficulty. The mad rush for gifts, an annual appointment with the most unbridled capitalism and relatives who we believed by now dead, has started again, but before taking the train to the province, a last ride through a sparkling Milan among markets and lights.
To Eat - Beef Club Milano
Steakhouse recently opened in the Magenta area, Beef Club is a restaurant entirely dedicated to meat: tartare, carpaccio, larded croutons and foie gras and, of course, a series of grilled steaks and meat dishes that are the arme de choix of the kitchen. The dishes are also quite customizable, with the possibility of combining sauces and side dishes, as well as trying different tastings and appetizers. As for the atmosphere, the environment is refined, simple and elegant like the gastronomic proposal.

To discover - Piet Mondrian, From figuration to abstraction
For the first time in Milan, Mudec presents an exhibition entirely dedicated to the artist Mondrian and the evolutionary process that acquired him from figuration to abstraction, from the tradition of the Dutch landscape to the development of his unique style, which made him unmistakable and universally famous. Other masterpieces from important museums and private collections are also on display, including that of Kunstmuseum Den Haag, which has lent more than sixty works.

To Chill - The Bar at Ralph Lauren
Opened last month, the bar located inside Ralph Lauren's flagship store in Via della Spiga is an absolute dream: a dive into the American Old Money aesthetic that seems to come out of a novel by Scott Fitzgerald, made of pillows decorated with tartan patterns, warm colors, an aesthetic reminiscent of the great houses of American dynasties. The menu includes a limited selection of lunch dishes, plus a number of aperitif proposals that, in addition to cocktails, also include oysters and tartare.

To party - Gate Milano
Once it was called De Sade, then it became Club Haus 80's, since 2017 the club in via Valtellina 21 has changed its face, management and programming again, becoming the Gate, a "modular" space that can be adapted to any type of event. This Saturday the venue returns as a club with the music of NHUM, Dave Santos and Lovesoundsystem.

To shop - Nonna Luisa's house
Together with the Pictalab studio, expert in the design and creation of fresco decorations on walls, the flower designer Vincenzo Dascanio has created "La casa di Nonna Luisa", a Christmas-themed Wunderkammer which in via della Spiga creates a temporary store open until to 24 December 2021. Arranged over 600 square meters, the three floors replicate the style of a typical Milanese residence, inside there is also a café and pastry shop to take a delicious moment of relaxation from Christmas shopping.
