The adidas Forum Jersey Pack arrives in Milan with an exclusive drop for Foot Locker Europe
2021 was the year of the adidas Forum. The historic sneaker produced by the German brand is the real OG both as regards basketball shoes and as regards the inexhaustible trend of chunky sneakers. Its athletic heritage is at the center of the new release of the brand, exclusive to Foot Locker Europe, called adidas Forum Jersey Pack that will present two new iterations of the historic adidas Forum silhouette that want to explore the legacy that the sneaker has had in the history of basketball. The new construction is inspired by basketball jerseys with a central panel that reproduces in a maximalist version the texture of the mesh of the uniforms that can be seen on the court. Today, with the exclusive release of the Forum Pack, adidas takes stock of the cultural evolution of the sneaker, making it become a means through which to rediscover the topography of sneaker culture in Europe and Milan - with four talents that told the aesthetics of the sneaker through four different locations in Milan and four of the main historical locations of Foot Locker where you can find the sneaker exclusively.
But if today the adidas Forum has invaded the entire city, its origins were in the basketball court. It was right on the court, that of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, and thanks to Michael Jordan, that the myth of the adidas Forum was born almost thirty years ago. The sneaker was in fact presented in 1984 and represented the new gold standard of the basketball shoe thanks to technical innovations such as the Criss-Cross Ankle System and the cushioning system of the Dellinger Web. Since then Forum has experienced constant popularity appearing in the rotation of modern fashion icons such as A$AP Rocky, who wore a version co-signed with Prada, but also Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Lisa of Blackpink.
The strength of the sneaker lies in the essentiality of its design – the Forum is part of the classics of the sneaker world not only for the history it has behind it but also and above all for its total wearability that makes it on the one hand discreet enough to be able to enter into any outfit, but on the other so recognizable that it is noticed almost instantly. A sneaker that is at the perfect crossroads of the trends of the year: that of archival design, which has placed emphasis on the history and cultural relevance of fashion & sneaker design; that of elevated basics, which instead has seen a clear preference given by the public to timeless and always versatile designs; and finally that of hyper-functionality, which places the value of an item in its performance and technical details. It is no coincidence that in the last year the sneaker has been at the center of numerous collaborations: there has been the re-release of the Money model designed by Jeremy Scott as well as two other collaborations, one dedicated to the anniversary of Home Alone and one dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the Xbox but also a model that celebrated The Simpsons and a collaboration with Eric Emmanuel. Last April, however, the video of Bad Bunny showing his audience the adidas Forum to whose design the Colombian rapper had collaborated gained 15 million views in a few hours.
The new adidas Forum Jersey Pack has arrived exclusively at all Foot Locker locations in Europe. Find out where to find it by exploring the interactive map of the sneaker culture of Milan that you find above.
