How the UK tour of The Next Classic Guide went
The project of Jaguar and Baracuta greets the United Kingdom towards Germany
December 12th, 2021
The first stage of The Next Classic Guide, the project by Jaguar and Baracuta that took a Jaguar E-PACE, the hybrid model of the British company, around England, customised starting from the "natural" version of the G9 jacket worn by Steve McQueen, has come to an end. A path that has seen the participation of some of the most interesting names in creativity and curation, starting from Samutaro, star of our first stage, to Kofi, creator and youtuber also known by the pseudonym of The Unknown Vlogs. "This collaboration enabled me to edit content on the go. Allowing me to visit cities and film content efficiently", Kofi had told us. "Baracuta and Jaguar have always been classics, all with its essential English heritage. This collaboration is cool. I like it. Makes me feel proud to be British."
In the factory two artists have reworked in a new key the G9 Harrington Jacket by Baracuta, natural definition of classic and for this reason perfect to become the symbol of the Next Classic Guide. Currie Goat took his mythical beasts and leather rugs into a new dimension, transforming the jacket into a unique object bursting with color, while with Shane Gonzales, founder and creative director of MIDNIGHT STUDIOS, the G9 was reworked in a punk key starting with the iconic safety pin. "When I think of what a new classic was at the time of the late 70’s, I picture a young kid taking his father or grandfathers wardrobe and cutting it up, deconstructing and throwing anything they could find onto it", Gonzales recounted when talking about his creative process.
The journey of The Next Classic Guide, however, is not over yet, and after the United Kingdom will touch, among other countries, Germany, France and Italy. In order not to miss any of the upcoming appointments do not forget to follow The Next Classic Guide.
