5 exhibitions to visit during Milan Design Week

After months of stops and various postponements, Milan returns to be the capital of international design from 4 to 10 September 2021. Between events, installations, exhibitions and appointments, it is easy to lose the compass: that's why we have listed our 5 favorite locations to visit during the weekend. They are all exhibitions in the center of the city, staging modern installations in historical environments, or exploring the work of designers of yesterday and today such as Rick Owens and the great Magistretti or exploring the secrets of Italian techwear.

University of Milan - Interior Creative Connections

Entering the courtyards and cloisters of the University of Milan, the iconic location of the Design Week. You will find various works as part of the exhibition "Interni Creative Connections" conceived by the brand of Interiors and Contemporary Design of the Mondadori group.

Vico Magistretti. Italian Architect @ Triennale

In collaboration with the Vico Magistretti Foundation, the Milan Triennale presents the heritage of drawings, models, photographs, sketches, and unique pieces by the Milanese architect Vico Magistretti. During the exhibition curated by Gabriele Neri, you will retrace the entire path of the designer in a unified manner that began right in the Palazzo dell’Arte.

Rick Owens and his unique pieces at Spazio CB32

At Spazio CB32 you can admire the artifacts of the multifaceted Californian designer Rick Owens, in dialogue with a selection of projects created by emerging Italian talents. The exhibition was organized by Galerie Philia, a New York gallery of contemporary design and modern art.

Stone Island / Prototype Research_series 05 Copper Nanotechnology On Raso

In the Stone Island showroom, you will have the opportunity to observe unique projects of a few numbered garments, made of refined and tested fabrics, which are not yet industrialized.

The Brera Botanical Garden - Natural Capital

Among the buildings in the center of Milan, you can find the most suggestive green oasis. The appointment at the Brera Botanical Garden is with the installation of Studio Carlo Ratti Associati's "Natural Capital", the event will allow visitors to experience a different point of view on the fight against climate change.
