On the occasion of the next Air Max Day, Nike has announced the return of the iconic Air Max 90 “Bacon”. Created in 2004 by Dave Ortiz and Chris Keef in collaboration with Dave's Quality Meat, the now-closed New York sneaker store, the sneakers are inspired by the different shades of colour found inside a slice of bacon.
Among the most famous colourways among those of the Air Max 90, “Sail” and “Straw” are the two main colours used on the sneaker, from the leather toe box to the suede parts. However, it is the red on the midfoot that makes the concept of bacon concrete, giving the shoe the veins that we might expect on a real slice of bacon. The midsole in two colours, tan and brown, completes the work, while the Air Max unit is bright pink. The sneaker will also come with a series of laces in different colours and a package similar to the wrapping of a butcher's shop.
The Nike Air Max 90 “Bacon” will be available from March 26 on Nike SNKRS with a retail price of 140 €.
