LEGO's biggest set ever made

LEGO has unveiled today its new LEGO 10276 Colosseum set, a scale model of Rome's iconic monument that also holds the record for the most bricks in a single set, 9036. The new set will be so big that it will even include a base to be transported without damage. 

This large number of bricks translates into a large number of details: the LEGO Colosseum includes all 80 arches on three different levels of the real Amphitheater Flavius and also the very subtle chromatic differences between the various parts that replicate the real historical patina assumed by the stones.

The LEGO 10276 Colosseum set will go on sale from November 27 for $499 on the LEGO website and at select retailers.
