Tesla produced its first tequila
When rockets aren't enough to send you into orbit
November 6th, 2020
In April 2018, Elon Musk had his picture taken next to a car as a bum, then posted the photo with a tweet mentioning the "Teslaquila" – just an April fool who was taken seriously because, a few months later, Tesla actually registered the Teslaquila brand. Today the joke has become reality: Tesla presented its first tequila, produced by the Californian company Nosotros Tequila, and at the modest price of 250 dollars per bottle - which of course is already sold-out.
The bottle of Tesla's new tequila is lightning-shaped, comes from sustainable crops and will only be available online in part of the United States. In terms of flavor, it will be dry and fruity, with touches of vanilla, cinnamon and a peppery aftertaste. After pre-orders shipments will begin towards the end of the year.
