Those leading up to summer were challenging months. The epidemic and the lockdown that forced us into our homes made us feel nostalgic and eager to see once again and return to places close to our hearts, summer destinations, beach houses, familiar landscapes. It's the return of a Mediterranean aesthetic rediscovered first on the catwalks and later in a great number of Instagram profiles.
nss magazine inaugurates a new photographic series dedicated to the gems of Italian Mediterranean aesthetic, scattered from Liguria to Sicily, for the pleasure of rediscovering forgotten views and sensations.
The series opens with the images shot in Sicily by Leandro Colantoni, born in 1991 and raised in this land. The sea is the backdrop to daily rituals, to family gestures that mark hot summer days. Colantoni's lens portrays the gleam of the sun that caresses the waves, a sunset seen from a moving car, the return to a peaceful nature, which welcomes and comforts.
