To celebrate the Star Wars Day 2020, the global event spontaneously born from the love of the fans to celebrate the most famous galactic saga in the world, Disney has unveiled many new Star Wars-themed products. Among the ones inspired by Disney+ original series The Mandalorian, Hasbro has released a real gem: a limited edition Baby Yoda-themed Monopoly.
In this special version of Monopoly, the board is decorated with the adorable face of Baby Yoda (called "The Child"), while all the tokens represent Baby Yoda in different positions. The number of locations in which you can move your token is slightly reduced: instead of the great classics Mediterranean Avenue and Boardwalk, players can move between different locations inspired by the places as seen in The Mandalorian, as well as buy them with a Mandalorian-inspired value. Still, there are no houses and hotels to build, but "Common Houses" and "Hideouts", and follow actions on the Camtono and Bounty Puck cards.
Monopoly: Star Wars The Child includes four cardboard tokens with pawn stands, 18 Title Deed cards, 16 Bounty Puck cards, 16 Cartoon cards, 32 plastic hideouts, 12 plastic common houses, 12 dice, a franchise-themed money pack, and a game guide. The news of this release comes following the recent announcement that Disney will produce a second season for The Mandalorian, still starring Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers e Bill Burr alongside with new entries as Rosario Dawson.
