According to a Bloomberg report, Apple finished the development of the next generation of smartphones that will be released in the fall. The new design will be inspired by iPads and will include 5G technology for four new models and two new accessories. The successor to the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max will have angular steel edges and flat screens mimicking both the 2018 iPad Pro and the iPhone 5 design. The pro version of the iPhone 12 will have three cameras, while the normal ones will only have two cameras. They will also have the 3-D LIDAR system, formerly a feature of the iPad Pro, which will improve augmented reality applications as well as upgrades to processors to increase the capabilities of artificial intelligence as well as a slightly larger screen.
The two new accessories, on the other hand, will be a new small version of the HomePod speaker, which is expected to be made available this year, and the Apple Tags – real news of the Cupertino company. Apple Tags will be trackers to be applied to small objects, such as wallets or keychains, that will help locate them through next-generation smartphones. Among Apple's future projects, there are significant upgrades to the screen of its devices, which will incorporate the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors inside the screen, optimizing its measurements.
The new generation of iPhone 12 is expected to make its debut during the fall season. It is not yet clear whether, due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the release will occur as usual in September or there will be delays of a few weeks. According to the Bloomberg report, Apple has not warned suppliers of possible production delays and its engineers are expected to travel to China in May to finalize the projects.
