StockX lands in Paris with a three-day event
Stockxchange will host exclusive displays, panels, workshops, and collaborative conversations
November 14th, 2019
It will officially kick off this Friday in Paris StockXchange, the three-day event hosted by the biggest reselling website in the world, that aims at celebrating the global sneaker culture and the rich heritage of the French city. The Paris event will now be an occasion to discover more about the constant influence between fashion and culture, highlighting the close bond between fashion and subcultures, music, sneaker and skate culture.
The curator of this edition od StockXchange is Sarah Andelman, previously at the helm of Colette, the Paris store that has redefined the confines between luxury and streetwear. StockXchange will moreover see the presence of high profile names of the industry, as Angelo Baque, founder of Awake NY; Stéphane Ashpool, founder of Pigalle; Ruba Abu-Nimah, creative director of Revlon; Michael Dupouy, author of All Gone; and Pedro Winter aka Busy P. There will be three days of displays, panels, workshops, and collaborative conversations highlighting the people, stories, and products that have shaped the cultural landscape into what it is today, with a special focus on the city of Paris.
The decision to hold the event in Paris again emphasizes, in fact, StockX's intention to consolidate in the European market. This was reflected by the opening two months ago of the authentication centre in Eindhoven, by the presence of StockX during the latest edition of SNEAKERNESS Milan, as well as by the statements made by the CEO Scott Cutler at the news of the valuation of the website for $1 billion dollars, when he expressed his will to grow and spread above all in Europe. These are all activities that aim at establishing the authority and the importance of the website in Europe, and above all in Paris, the city of fashion by definition, that over the last few years has found a unique and eclectic way of interpreting and welcoming the streetwear phenomenon. It's from here that the future of sneaker culture will be written, as well as StockX's.
