Black Mirror unveils Season 5 trailer
The cast also includes Miley Cyrus
May 15th, 2019
The long-awaited 5th season of Black Mirror is finally about to arrive on Netflix. The date is next June 5 and the hype around the series created by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones rises more and more. Details on the three new episodes are scarce, but the trailer just released by the streaming platform reveals that, once again, the issues will be life, technology and privacy. The images show Andrew Scott (famous for being Jim Moriarty in Sherlock) on the brink of a nervous breakdown, a bit like Michael Douglas in Falling Down; Anthony Mackie aka the Falcon of Avengers: Endgame as a husband who's about to betray his wife; Miley Cyrus playing a girl encouraged by a small robot to become a pop star. This particular episode seems to contain a link with the world of virtual reality and videogames. In an interview, talking about the fifth season, Brooker stated that it would be focused on:
"Three new stories about the future should have seen coming. .. I wish the stories weren't all dystopian, because otherwise, it would become really predictable...I need originality.”
To see how this idea influenced the development of the series we should wait until June 5, when Netflix will drop the three episodes of Black Mirror Season 5.
Here's the trailer.
