Pornhub might buy Tumblr

Since December 17, following its exclusion from the Apple store due to the presence of pedopornographic material, Tumblr has banned any pornographic content. The decision was also heavily criticized and visits fell to 100 million per month, with one-fifth of users leaving the site. Despite currently hosting 465.4 million blogs and 172,000 million posts, the platform, as reported in the Wall Street Journal, has struggled to achieve its revenue targets and has forced Verizon, its telecommunications owner, to look for a possible buyer. Among the companies involved, there is Pornhub. In an email sent to BuzzFeed News, the vice president of the popular hot site, Corey Price, said he was interested in buying Tumblr, stressing, obviously, the intention to restore the adult contents:

"Tumblr was a safe haven for those who wanted to explore and express their sexuality, adult entertainment aficionados included. We've long been dismayed that such measures were taken to eradicate erotic communities on the platform, leaving many individuals without an asylum through which they could comfortably peruse adult content."

Tumblr is a platform that many believe is perfectly designed for teenagers who experience sexuality and this explains why the ban on porn content has decreed its decline, but, if the deal with Pornhub will work, the microblog site could return "to its former glory".
